The Marqués de Rayas’s former palace, from the seventeenth century, became a museum in 1979 and from there collected miniatures, artisanal artworks, archaeologic objects and colonial-era paintings. The permanent collection includes work from painters José Chávez Morado and Hermenegildo Bustos as well as contemporary art.
